I haven't read the Akira manga yet either, but I've heard it's really good. It kind of looks intimidating though (it's freaking huge. . .and long, two things manga usually is not). Do you have any suggestions for some other anime that would be somewhat similar to Akira in that aspect? Or at least some smart ones? My favorite currently is Ghost in the Shell: SAC. ^_~
